Two stick up kids by the name of Free and Big Lou get more than they bargain for when they discreetly rob a baller named Twin at one of his lavish parties. Not only do they get away with his lucrative stash but Free also gets away with Twin's lady, Six, and quickly he makes her his main chick. For years to come best friends Big Lou and Free continue being professional ski mask bandits, which in turn allows Free to provide Six with the hood rich lifestyle she craves. Six is the epitome of a ride or die chick, so when Free gets locked up for three years, she never thought twice about faithfully standing by his side. Through his prison sentence Six tries her best to hold it down, she even has to get a job as a bartender at the local strip club. With Free's upcoming release she thinks things will go back to normal and she will be living the lavish life in no time. She thought wrong though because the day following his release it becomes scarily clear that Free owes the Russians a pretty penny. Three hundred thousand dollars to be exact, and in only six months or they both will be forced to pay with their lives.

Jones is an original gangster and just so happens to be the coolest father ever. He is completely non-judgmental and gives Six the best advice because he clearly wants the best for his daughter. He knows that Free and Six are in dire need of cash flow so he brokers a business deal between Free and a king pin named Britain. Things go from bad to worse when the deal goes horribly wrong. Britain refuses to pay and that automatically makes him the next intended robbery victim. Free has to approach this stick up a bit differently being that Britain is the man in the streets and appears untouchable. He decides to send Six. Although she is apprehensive about basically renting herself out to some stranger, she is down for her man and is willing to sacrifice herself. In the meantime, Britain has no idea the woman he is falling head over heels for is simply playing him to get close to his safe. Six is focused on getting this job done and then moving on with her life with Free, but to her surprise, the lines between business and pleasure quickly start to blur. Britain wines and dines Six like she never even imagined. He shows her a world that dreams are made of and has her constantly thinking to herself how much different Britain is than Free.

This novel is absolutely mesmerizing and is without a doubt "the most complicated love story ever told." The wow factor is apparent throughout this tale as Britain takes the hood chick that Free loves and upgrades her lifestyle and appearance with sophistication. Six tries fighting her feelings for Britain and is determined to stick to the plan when unexpected and vile scandal along with heartbreak pushes her into his open arms. Her love for Free and her love for Britain eventually has her torn between the two. The choices she makes will undoubtedly shock readers. What Free and Six never seemed to realize is the extreme lengths they go to in hopes of obtaining money come with extreme consequences and last but not least, they can't escape their past.

Down like four flats, Free, Six, and best friend, Big Lou get jiggy in their quest for a quarter of a million dollars.

Well...ive finished another Ashley book as always it was good but again the ending as far as what happens to the charaters was the same and perdictible i say this because ashley and jaquvis books never have happy endings and thats beginning to let me always be able to predict the ending i understand Ashley and Jaquvis want to keep it as real as possible i like that about them...however i think its time for a little change in there formula...

I knew I was buying a used book. I took the chance, since "I Am Jackie Chan" has been a hard book to find. Also, I've read the book already, so to me, it was worth the risk.

I received it today, and it has a few bends on the soft cover, but other than that, the book is perfect.
I noticed that the book is actually sold for six US dollars, More than double what I paid for it, but alas, I have my book and I can sleep at night.

I'm one happy customer. Maybe I got lucky, who knows. No book is the same when it's used. So this review may not be the same for other customers.

As for the book itself, it's an awesome book. You might want to rent it out at your public library if it's not available on Amazon.

I can't say much about the book without talking too much. All I can say is that it's an amazing story. Jackie Chan tells how he got his name, Jackie Chan! I always thought it was a super awesome story, and I enjoy telling others about it. When I tell them, they think it's funny and I can't help but smile. I read "I Am Jackie Chan" 14 years ago, for the first time, and I still remember a lot of the book. Why did I buy it, if I still remember the book? I'm starting a library of my own, and this book was a "Must Have" for me. That's how awesome this book is. :D

When selecting this book, I wasn't quite sure what to expect, but I was certainly surprised when I began reading. Based off of his fun-loving charisma today, you would have never expected that he was raised in an extremely strict setting. Of course that never stopped him from acting out and putting people in their place, but punishment was cruel during his time and I couldn't help but feel sorry for him and his Chinese Drama Academy family. Reading about his struggle on finding a promising job after his life at the Academy really helped me put into perspective as to how hard he's worked to become what he is today. I was a bit surprised when he shared his struggle with acting, since that's what he's known for, but I suppose with each film, an actor's skills only get better. Overall, this autobiography is very intriguing as it is consumed of many things I've never read of before.

This is a great book about a great man! If you are a dedicated Jackie Chan fan, make sure you purchase this biography. I have enjoyed having this in my collection for many years and I am surprised to see that the price has not fluctuated much. Take care of it!

Marilyn Pappano has transformed the ordinary into something extra with The Princess and the Mercenary. In this continuation of Romancing the Crown, Anna & Tyler come alive. As they search for Anna's brother, Prince Lucas, each must struggle to work out the differences in class, age and experience. What a wonderful journey. I couldn't put it down. Thank you, Ms Pappano, for the hours of escape and enjoyment.

As usual, Ms. Pappano has created a beautiful world. In the Princess and the Mercenary, princesses seem like real people with loving hearts and mercenaries are handsome heros to die for.
This is a delightful read not to be missed!

Amazing!

Beauty in My Dreamland is like a bottle of wine that has been well preserved in an enchanted place for loving souls to discover. Reading it, will take you to a new dimension where love and adventures intertwined. The more you read it, the more you want to immerse yourself in a world where love is king. From love affair to fantasies, many of the poems invite us, humans, to put love first in everything. Beauty in My Dreamland is also a very serious poetry book coupled with some short stories treating about the obesity of women as well as women' rights.

This latest release of Interconnections is a competent update of a networking classic. Radia Perlman explains hundreds of details about getting computers--and computer networks--to talk to one another smoothly, accurately, and efficiently. Perlman, inventor of the spanning-tree bridging algorithm, covers the Open Systems Interconnect (OSI) reference model, bridges, switches, hubs, Virtual Local Area Networks (VLANs), plus connection-based and connectionless networks. She also does a great job of explaining the underpinnings of internetworking protocols, including packet format, addressing, routing (both generically and in terms of RIP, RTMP, OSPF, and other protocols), and security. There's plenty of IPv6 information here, mostly from a theoretical vantage point.

The best parts of Perlman's approach to her subject are the little thought experiments that explain why various aspects of internetworking behave the way they do. For example, Perlman talks about Maximum Transmission Unit (MTU) discovery by presenting four different hypotheses for figuring out MTU. For each possible solution, she discusses strengths, weaknesses, and real-life considerations. From the Inside Flap

Interconnections, Second Edition is about what goes on inside the boxes that move data around the Internet. These boxes are variously called bridges, routers, switches, and hubs. The book also describes the devices that connect to the network.

There is considerable confusion in this area. Most of the terminology is ill defined and is used in conflicting ways. The terminology and the specifications tend to be daunting. Some knowledge is spread among many different documents; much is unwritten folk wisdom. Adding to the confusion is dogma. Beliefs are accepted as truth, and questioning any of the dogma is often greeted with hostility. But good engineering demands that we understand what we're doing and why, keep an open mind, and learn from experience.

In Interconnections, Second Edition, instead of diving right into the details of one protocol, I first focus on the problems to be solved. I examine various solutions to each of these problems and discuss the engineering trade-offs involved. Then I look at a variety of solutions that have been deployed and compare the approaches. I give technical arguments for any opinions, and if you think I have missed any arguments I welcome email discussion. My email address is at the back of the book, which I hope you will find after having read the book cover to cover.

In the first edition, my intention was to help people understand the problems and the general types of solutions, assuming that they would read the specifications to get the details of specific protocols. But people used the book as a reference in addition to using it to understand the issues. So in this edition I have documented many more of the protocols in detail.

I believe that to understand something deeply you need to compare it to something else. The first edition was "minimalist" in that I always used only two examples: two types of bridges, bridges versus routers, connection-oriented versus connectionless network layer protocols, and two examples of connectionless protocols (CLNP and IP). In this edition I add a lot more examples, including ATM, IPv6, IPX, AppleTalk, and DECnet. I did this in part because these protocols exist, and it is hard to get information about them. But mostly I did it because the protocols embody interesting ideas that should not be lost. When we design new protocols, we should learn from previous ideas, both good and bad. Also, it takes very little additional effort, after the problem is described generically, to describe several examples. Roadmap to the Book

The first four chapters are not significantly different from their counterparts in the first edition, but the rest of the book has been largely rewritten. Chapters 1 through 4 cover general networking concepts, data link issues such as addressing and multiplexing, transparent bridges and the spanning tree algorithm, and source routing bridges. Chapter 5 is completely new and explains how the notion of a switch evolved into a rediscovery of the bridge. It also covers VLANs and fast Ethernet.

The remainder of the book concentrates on layer 3 (the network layer). Chapter 6 gives an overview of the network layer. Chapter 7 covers connection-oriented networks, including ATM and X.25. Chapter 8 discusses the issues in a generic connectionless network layer. Chapter 9 covers layer 3 addressing generically and gives a detailed comparison of IP, IPv6, CLNP, DECnet, AppleTalk, and IPX. Chapter 10 covers the information that should appear in a network layer header and contrasts the headers of several protocols.

Chapter 11 covers autoconfiguration and neighbor discovery, including protocols such as ARP and DHCP. Chapter 12 covers routing algorithms generically.

Chapter 13 discusses the problem of doing longest-prefix matching, which is required in order to forward IP packets quickly. Chapter 14 discusses the specifics of various routing protocols including RIP, IS-IS, OSPF, PNNI, NLSP, and BGP. Chapter 15 covers network layer multicast. Chapter 16 explains how to design a network that is invulnerable to sabotage, an idea whose time may come.

The final two chapters summarize the book, and I hope they will be mostly light and entertaining reading. Chapter 17 probes the mystery of what, if anything, distinguishes a router from a bridge. Chapter 18 attempts to capture folk wisdom about how to design a protocol.

Finally, there is an extensive glossary. I try to define terms when I first use them, but if I ever fail to do that, you will probably find them in the glossary. Acknowledgments

A great intro to the fundamentals of networking, but slightly outdated

This book provides a thorough, easy-to-read introduction to the fundamentals of networking. The text starts with the simplest possible network and builds upon it until all the basic features of modern networks have been introduced. This book won't tell you which buttons to push to set up a particular switch or router, but it will help you understand how any piece of networking equipment or software actually works, which is a huge help with troubleshooting. It also includes material on the more theoretical aspects of networking, such as a derivation of the spanning-tree algorithm. I skipped those chapters, since I am content to use the algorithms built into modern networking equipment.

My only critique of "Interconnections" is that the terminology is outdated, which makes it hard to map some of the concepts to the networking gear that's currently in use. For example, the book spends a lot of time explaining "bridges," but I have never seen a box called a "bridge" (this functionality is incorporated into modern switches.) Don't let that discourage you from buying this book-just be aware that you will need to supplement it with more recent material.

Great But Not For Novices

This is a great book for those interested in the details of networks, particularly in comparisons of different protocols, and the different approaches they take to networking problems. The author's style is more familiar than most technical books and she freely gives her opinions of how the protocols came about and the pros and cons of design decisions. Pesonally, I like that style, but not all do. Well worth reading and having in your reference library. Don't buy this, though, unless you already know things like the difference between IP and Ethernet addresses and terms like network layer and link layer.

One of the few best books on this subject

Radia Perlman, author of this book, is one of these great people who pioneered the technology which we today know as the Internet. Her book no doubt should be one of the best in the industry to understand this technology, and so it is. She is also famous for inventing the spanning tree protocol, on which today switches work in almost all major networks. This book had 4 short and perfect reviews before mine, and I went ahead clicking each reviewer's name to see his/her other reviews.

Two, three or even more reviews PER day. Maybe they're so smart they read a few books daily? All of them, 4 of them had the same patterns.

And this book literally had nothing to read. Just google ASP.NET and take a course for beginners. I'm going back there.

Again, don't waste your time.

If you want to lose weight and really have no idea on how or where to start, then this book will help you. I got this book in hopes of learning a few more tips and tricks on weight loss. It explains the common mistakes us dieters make, this Book also shows you how to calculate your calorie intake and how much you should be eating. Overall a good read if you are serious about starting a diet and want to know what steps to take.
